Marie is a French name meaning “bitter”.
A common middle name for women in the United States, Marie as a first name is quite refreshing.
November 3rd – Gemma Ward
Gemma Louise Ward – Model, born in Australia on November 3, 1987.
Gemma is an Italian name meaning “precious stone”.
As a jewelry designer, I love this name! I also think it makes a great alternative to the beautiful, but much more popular Emma.
November 4th – Curtis Stone
Curtis Stone – Chef, born in Australia on November 4, 1975.
Curtis is a French name that comes from an English surname meaning “courteous”.
A name with a noble meaning. Curtis Stone choose the names Hudson & Emerson for his sons.
November 5th – Tilda Swinton

Mathilda is a variation of the German name Matilda, meaning “mighty in battle”.
Mathilda is so many lovely nickname options; Mattie, Tilly, and of course Tilda. November 5th is also my best friend’s birthday – Happy Birthday, Alex!

A sweet, wholesome little name.
November 7th – Morgan Spurlock

Morgan is a Welsh name meaning “sea circle”.
In the U.S. Morgan is now more popular for women.
November 8th – Bonnie Raitt
Bonnie Lynn Raitt – Singer, born in the United States on November 8, 1949.
Bonnie is a Scottish name meaning “pretty”.
I think Bonnie is sweet and just vintage-y enough to make a comeback!
November 9th – Benjamin Banneker
Benjamin Banneker – Scientist, born in the United States on November 9, 1731.
Benjamin is a Hebrew name meaning “son of the right hand”.
I’ve loved this name for many moons. As a child I slept with a teddy bear that I named Benjamin.

Claude is French from the Latin Claudius, meaning “lame”.
Not the best meaning, but a wonderful artistic association.
November 15th – Petula Clark
Petula Sally Olwen Clark – Singer, born in England on November 15, 1932.
Petula’s father invented her name.
Petula sounds a bit like petunia to me. It’s definitely distinctive and memorable.
November 16th – Marg Helgenberger
Mary Marg Helgenberger – Actor, born in the United States on November 16, 1958.
Mary is a Hebrew name meaning “bitter”.
Although I couldn’t find any concrete data on the name Marg, it is likely to be a variant of Margaret, meaning “pearl”.
November 17th – Rock Hudson

Roy is a French name meaning “red-haired”.
The name “Rock Hudson” sounds like a name that could be given to a baby boy born today. It’s edgy, masculine, and distinctive.
November 18th – Owen Wilson

Owen is an anglicized Welsh name meaning “young”.
I love the strong “o” sound and familiarity of this name.
November 19th – Daria Werbowy

Daria is a feminine form of the name Darius, meaning “to posses well”.
Daria is one of my favorite D names for girls. It might remind you of the late 90’s MTV cartoon character.
November 20th – Bo Derek
Mary Cathleen Collins – Actor, born in the United States on November 20, 1956.
Bo may be an Old Norse name meaning “to live”, typical used for me. Or a Chinese unisex name meaning “wave”.
Bo is so spunky and very stylistically different from the traditional Mary Cathleen.
November 21st – Coleman Hawkins “Hawk”
Coleman Randolph Hawkins – Saxophonist, born in the United States on November 21, 1904.
Coleman is an English name meaning “of Nicholas”.
I could easily see this name come back into fashion.
November 22nd – Mariel Hemingway

Mariel is a diminutive of the Hebrew name Mary meaning “bitter”.
Mariel Hemingway is the granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway and sister to Margaux Hemingway. Many cool names in this family!

Unfortunately, this name is too closely associated now with Adolf Hitler.
