Names of the Week – Esme & Walker

nwheads

❤ This week our names are Esme & Walker

Esme is a lovely old French name, meaning “esteemed, loved”.  A lovely meaning that would be great for a baby born in the month of love.  Esme is sorely underused in the U.S. at #929 for girls (with this spelling).  The Twilight saga exposed a younger generation to the name Esme.  I’m partial to the Esmée spelling.

Walker is an English surname and an occupational name, meaning “to walk, cloth walker”.  Hear more about walkers as an occupational name in my video below.  Walker is a fairly common surname in the U.S. and is currently #369 as a given name for boys.  I could picture this name on a little cowboy.
